DMAIG Update: March 4, 2008

Have you caught your breath
yet? As the THON 2008 total went up, with the announcement of $6,615,318.04 for
the kids, alumni phones were ringing across the nation. Emails were sent in a
flurry. Google status messages were full of Penn State Pride. Facebook profiles
got updates with incredible news. Wherever you were when you heard, you knew
THON 2008 had made its mark, that the dancers, volunteers, and fundraisers had
made an incredible difference. Things would never be the same. The word "hope"
would never be the same. Neither would the number 6.6. Or the theme song to
Monday Night Football. The BJC would never be the same. And most importantly,
the
Hershey Medical Center received the incredible gift that comes from the
courage, wisdom, honesty, and strength that takes over our hearts for 46
incredible hours. And all for the kids.

Sunday afternoon, and all
through the week, alumni ever were buzzing with THON energy. But it's not just
February when alumni are spreading the word and raising funds; it's throughout
the year. Below are some highlights from our most recent alumni events, and a
few post-THON announcement to help keep the energy going. Don't forget to stay
in touch as we keep the information coming. For more information, please email
Daniel at editor@dmaig.org or Bill at secretary@dmaig.org, or for more about
events, write to Emily at regionalevents@dmaig.org.

Did you hear the new "For
the Kids" song by Mick Byrd? Mick, Charles Millard's son-in-law revealed the
song live THON weekend, and with all proceeds going to THON, you can learn more
at ftkcd.com.

THON in the Press

THON Express trekked the

all measures it was a huge success! The official total was around 90
people, which was perfect for the space. We charged a $40 cover and raised
