THON Weekend 2010

THON Weekend 2010 will be February 19-21, 2009.

Alumni Diamond ZoneAlumni Diamond ZoneFor many, THON has become a yearly tradition, reuniting with old classmates, friends, and family. The Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group (DMAIG) aims to provide a weekend full of activities allowing you to reunite with your THON family, continuing to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer, through support of The Four Diamonds Fund & The Penn State Dance Marathon.
The DMAIG with the help of the current undergraduate leadership of THON, have put together activities which will allow you to tour THON, learn the line dance, catch up with THON families, participate in Slides of Strength (formerly Bathroom Breaks), DMAIG Diamond Zone and even a chance to visit the floor. Here is the schedule for THON Weekend 2010: 

  • Friday - 6:00pm: THON Weekend Begins
  • Friday - 7:50-8:00pm: THON Express Stage Time
  • Friday - 9:00pm: DMAIG Meet & Greet at the Cafe 210
  • Saturday - 2:15pm: DMAIG Open Board Meeting at the Hintz Alumni Center
  • Saturday - 4:55pm-5:30pm: DMAIG/Faculty Learn the Line Dance in the South Annex (Slides of Strength to follow)
  • Saturday - 5:20-5:30pm: DMAIG Stage Time
  • Saturday - 8:00pm: DMAIG Tour 1
  • Saturday - 8:45pm: DMAIG Tour 2
  • Saturday - 10:00pm: Diamond Zone

As THON Weekend approaches you can help support the cause by purchasing tickets to our annual raffle. This year's grand prize is a 2009 Suzuki SX4 All Wheel Drive Crossover. The second place prize is a seven day, six night cruise for two to Bermuda donated by Norwegian Cruise Line. Finally, the third place prize is a brand-new DELL Latitude E4300 laptop. Throughout THON weekend, digital cameras will also be raffled off. All questions can be sent to Carley Bria at Supply.Logistics@thon.org. Together we can make a difference in the life of a child!

THON 2008

THON 2008 TotalTHON 2008 TotalDMAIG members kicked off THON 2008 by dancing the night away at Tony’s Big Easy for a reunion. Saturday morning, Alumni were back on their feet, as they had the joined the DMAIG Board for a reception and open meeting sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association, a behind the scenes tour of the BJC & THON 2008. As the weekend went on DMAIG members had the opportunity to participate in the slide of strength, and the first ever DMAIG Diamond Zone during the Pep Rally.

We look forward, with much anticipation, to THON Weekend 2009. We hope that you will save part of THON weekend, to join the DMAIG for at least one of our many acitivites.
