The Onward Upward Basketball Challenge was founded in January of 2003, and has raised over $48,000 for THON in its first five annual events. The 6th Annual event is scheduled for February 9, 2008 at Council Rock High School South, Holland, PA (Bucks County). Teams earn entry into the tournament by raising a minimum of $1000. Additional funds are raised via a pre-cursor "Beef & Beer" event, spectator donations, and the event's on-line pledge form (http://www.onwardupward.com/onlinepledgeform.html). The teams compete in a co-ed, full court, 5-on-5 format tournament. PIAA officials referee the event, encouraging a safe, friendly, and competitive tournament.
