The Greater Chicago Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association is hosting a wine & cheese tasting event in Hinsdale, IL , Saturday February 2nd from 6:30pm - 10pm. We will be having a silent auction with a chance to win lots of items including tickets to see Penn State play Illinois at Beaver Stadium in 2008. The Onward Upward Basketball Challenge was founded in January of 2003, and has raised over $48,000 for THON in its first five annual events. The 6th Annual event is scheduled for February 9, 2008 at Council Rock High School South, Holland, PA (Bucks County). Teams earn entry into the tournament by raising a minimum of $1000. Additional funds are raised via a pre-cursor "Beef & Beer" event, spectator donations, and the event's on-line pledge form (http://www.onwardupward.com/onlinepledgeform.html). The teams compete in a co-ed, full court, 5-on-5 format tournament. Start: 10:00 am

Porkys (55 West 21st between 5th & 6th) Saturday, Feb 9th, the NYC Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will host a THON Day Out featuring a Beer Pong tournament at 3pm at Porkys (55 West 21st bw 5th and 6th). Cost of entry is $20 per person/$40 per team. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams.
